Project Archeaologist
Dovetail is accepting applications for a full-time Project Archaeologist based out of our Fredericksburg, Virginia office. Primary responsibilities center on the day-to-day management of, and participation in, archaeological projects of all types and sizes. Responsibilities may also extend to writing archaeological project proposals, including scopes and budgets. The ideal candidate will be well-organized, with strong communication skills and broad experience in all phases of archaeological investigations. The salary range for this position is $45,000-$70,000, dependent upon experience, and the position is eligible for performance-based bonuses. Archaeological Crew Chief
Dovetail Cultural Resource Group (Dovetail) is seeking a full-time Archaeological Crew Chief based out of our Fredericksburg, Virginia office. The primary responsibilities center on the day-to-day management of small- to medium-sized field crews, including fieldwork planning and execution. The ideal candidate will be well-organized, with strong communication skills. The salary range for the position is $37,000–$41,500, and the position is eligible for performance-based bonuses. GIS Specialist
Dovetail is seeking a full-time Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist. The preferred work location is our Fredericksburg, Virginia office, though a position in our Wilmington, Delaware office or a fully remote position will be considered for the right candidate. The main responsibility of the GIS Specialist is to perform mapping tasks for cultural resource management projects, primarily using ESRI software products, to include developing predictive models, creating field and report maps from data provided by clients and Dovetail field staff, and occasionally assisting with field-based mapping tasks using handheld GPS units and/or total station. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and well-organized, with strong communication skills. The salary range for the position is $45,000-$58,000, dependent upon experience, and the position is eligible for annual performance-based bonuses. Architectural Historian II
Dovetail is currently accepting applications for a full-time, senior-level Architectural Historian. While a Fredericksburg-based position is preferred, our Wilmington office will be considered for the right candidate. Primary responsibilities of this position center on the day-to-day management and performance of small- to large-scale projects. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and well-organized, with strong analytical and communication skills. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Archaeological Technicians
Dovetail Cultural Resource Group is currently accepting applications for Archaeological Technicians in either our Fredericksburg, Virginia or Wilmington, Delaware office. Primary responsibilities of this position include performing archaeological fieldwork and data entry. The ideal candidate should be able to lift at least 40 pounds, has education or experience in anthropology or archaeology, and possesses effective verbal and written communication skills.
